This article is going to look at some of the common Deuces Wild pay tables that are used, and provide you with the maximum payout percentage you can attain with the specific pay table. Full Pay Deuces Wild - 100.76%

The first pay table we'll analyze is the full pay version of the game. This pay table is the best possible version of Deuces Wild you can find, and if you play correctly you can actually attain a payout percentage of 100.76%. Here is the pay table:

Not So Ugly Deuces Wild - 99.73%

The Not So Ugly pay table is commonly used at Vegas casinos, and is a very deceptive pay table as it appears to pay out more than full pay, but it actually doesn't. Five of a Kind, Straight Flush, and Flush all pay out more than full pay games, but four of a kind pays out less which swings the odds against you.

Ugly Deuces Wild - 98.91%

Ugly Deuces Wild is another commonly used pay table for Deuces Wild, and offers even worse odds than Not So Ugly Deuces Wild. Payouts for full houses are increased to 4x, but payouts for four of a kinds are decreased to 4x. This reduces the maximum pay percentage to 98.91%.

20/4/4 Deuces Wild - 97.97%

20/4/4 Deuces Wild increases the payout for a Full House, but decreases the payouts for Wild Royal Flushes and Four of a Kind. This results in a maximum payout percentage of only 97.97%. We recommend trying to find a different game, because these odds are very poor.

20/12/10/4 Deuces Wild - 97.58%

This version of Deuces Wild reduces two payouts (Wild Royal Flush and Five of a Kind) and increases two payouts (Straight Flush and Full House) but overall it only offers a 97.58% maximum payout percentage. Here's the table:

16/13/4 Deuces Wild - 96.77%

This version of Deuces Wild increases the payouts for Five of a Kind and Straight Flush, but decreases the payout for Four of a Kind which reduces the maximum payout percentage to 96.77%. Here is the table:

12/4/4 Deuces Wild - 96.01%

This pay table actually looks much worse than it is. Although payouts are severely cut for five of a kind and four of a kind, the full house payout is increased which helps the payout percentage significantly. It still isn't a great table though:

There is also a much worse version of this pay table that offers 8x for a Straight Flush, and only 2x for a Flush. The maximum payout percentage for that pay table variation is 95.59%. There is another version that offers only 7x for a Straight Flush as well as only 2x for a Flush - that pay table offers a 95.19% max payout.

20/10/8/4/4 Deuces Wild - 95.96%

This pay table greatly differs from full pay Deuces Wild. The Wild Royal Flush, Five of a Kind, Straight Flush, and Four of a Kind payouts are reduced, while the Full House payout is increased. This results in an overall max payout percentage of 95.96%. Here's the table:

The above pay tables are the most common Deuces Wild tables, but there are far more that can be found in casinos across the world. If you're in the casino and see a pay table you don't recognize, we recommend comparing it to a full pay game to see how it is. Focus on the more common hands like Flushes and Straights - if it pays out the normal amounts for those hands, the table probably isn't too bad (although it's certainly worse than full pay).

Beware of games that have bigger payouts for rare hands like Five of a Kind, but slash payouts for the more common hands like Flushes. Jacks or Better is the video poker game on which all other games are based. Understanding this pay table is one of the first things any prospective player should undertake. Here’s an example of a Jacks or Better pay table:

We want to point out a couple of things about the pay table above. First of all, notice the disproportionately higher payout for the royal flush when you bet 5 coins. See how it pays out 250 to 1 for every bet of fewer than 5 coins? But then it pays out 800 to 1 for the royal flush.

The next 2 payouts that are especially important are the payouts for the full house and the flush, in this case, 9 and 6. This is the best version of Jacks or Better that you’ll find. Pros call this a “full pay” game, or a 9/6 Jacks or Better game.

Based on the payoff amounts above, if you play with optimal strategy, this game offers you a 99.54% payback percentage. That’s the amount that the machine pays back in the long run, based on the odds of hitting these hands compared with the payoffs for these hands.

But this is not the most common Jacks or Better pay table. You’ll also see 8/5 games, 7/5 games, and even 6/5 games. Each of these has lower payouts for those hands, and correspondingly lower payback percentages.

If you know anything about slot machines, you’ll notice that even the worst pay table at Jacks or Better video poker offers a better payback percentage than most slot machine games.
